Welcome
My Name is Chloe Starbuck and I am Person-Centred Counsellor. I provide a safe space for clients to feel free to be present with their thought and feelings and explore them at a deeper level in order to gain understanding and acceptance within themselves at a pace that suits them.
Within Person-Centred Counselling, the client is the expert in the room, nobody knows you like you do and within this modality of counselling you will emotionally held and celebrated in your own uniqueness and individuality.
I work in accordance to the Ethical Framework of both the BACP and NCPS as well as the core principles of Person-Centred Therapy. The therapeutic relationship is cherished, nurtured and respected to the fullest of my proficiency. As part of my practice I do offer psychoeducational sessions where we cover certain topics of interest in the aim of boosting your knowledge, self-awareness and ideas for creating your own toolkit of coping mechanisms for challenges you may be facing.

My Special Interests
I do have a special interest and expertise in working with ADHD and Autistic clients. I have worked with a number of neurodivergent clients and helped to navigate how symptoms affect day to day living, gaining support from GP's and helped process the pathway to diagnosis. We do this by looking at the DSM-V criteria and go into depth about what these look like for each individual as well as look at other resources and experiences we can find in research and by what other people share. As well as this I have a large knowledge and practice within Premenstrual Disorders, in particular to Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD). This we look at in the same way as ADHD and Autism but with a whole picture view of why this manifests in the way it does, the symptoms it brings and look at coping strategies for more challenging symptoms. |
I have helped women in the past navigate and process their feelings about PMDD and the affects it has on their mental health. As someone who is diagnosed with PMDD and have 20 years of experience of living with this disabling condition I can fully empathise with other sufferers.
